What is AD file?

AD files contain a set of images that play in sequence after a user has selected an image. The first image is the main or background image and then are a number of smaller images that play on top of it. These smaller images can be colors or black and white, but they must follow the same rules. The overall format that the file follows is one horizontal line with a set of vertical lines. Each vertical line represents one frame in the animation. After Dark Screensaver is one example of an AD file type.
