What is ICON file?
The Icon file extension is used to store information about images. When an icon file is uploaded to the web, it is usually uploaded as a collection of individual files all together in a folder. The icons are usually stored in the same directory as the source image so when you click on File and choose Save As to save your work, it will save it into that same folder. Once saved, it will be converted into a pixelated image of the original image and can then be saved with a new name if needed.
